Engadget goes eyes-on with Samsung's new 85 inch television set.Engadget goes eyes-on with Samsung's new 85 inch television set.

The company calls the stand a 'timeless gallery' frame, and indeed the set would fit right in with some of the more conceptual pieces at the MoMA. Still, that easel-like design could be a bit limiting for some living rooms, so you can remove the S9 and wall-mount it -- though the 2.2 channel audio is built into that frame. Unique design aside, this TV is all about the high-end specs.

Scientists have discovered that Jupiter somehow managed to lose a stripe.Scientists have discovered that Jupiter somehow managed to lose a stripe.

The band was present at the end of 2009, right before Jupiter moved too close to the sun in the sky to be observed from Earth. When the planet emerged from the sun's glare again in early April, its south equatorial belt was nowhere to be seen.

Photoblog: Sunrise Over Ontario
Sunrise Over Ontario

Slightly grainy shot captured recently whilst engaged in a weekend quick trip over the border. Should also be noted that this photo was taken with my trusty and newly updated iPhone 3GS which takes pretty good photos now that they've added that handy autofocus feature.

Taking self-portraits just got a whole lot easier. Whether or not that's a good thing still debatable.

Asia gobbled up by darkness thanks to recent total eclipse.Asia gobbled up by darkness thanks to recent total eclipse.

Total eclipses occur about twice a year as the moon passes between the Earth and the sun on the same plane as Earth's orbit. Wednesday's event will be the longest of the 21st century, with astronomers predicting it will last more than six minutes.
