- Early review screenings of Toy Story 3 coming back quite positive already.
The folks over at CNET were lucky enough to get an advance screening of the movie and their consensus is that this installment will be a very big winner. Not that it wasn't a hard prediction to make even without seeing a screener but this is a neat read nonetheless for my fellow Pixar fans out there.
- LucasArts announces special edition of Monkey Island 2 coming this summer.
This should be a happy day for all fans of the Monkey Island franchise. The previous special edition of Monkey Island for Xbox 360 (and practically all other major platforms) was a joy to play. Guybrush even has a new haircut this time around.
- Toy Story attraction over at Disney adapts for seasons and/or new movie releases.
That's right, when you go inside to ride Mania after Toy Story 3 opens there will be whole new games to enjoy. The Imagineers have created a whole new collection of things to shoot with those pull string cannons for you to enjoy.
- New trailer for Iron Man 2 now available online for your viewing pleasure.
Well then, this trailer certainly reveals more about the plot than the previous one did. For awhile I thought it was just going to be Tony Stark versus Randy the Ram - guess that's not the case anymore.
- Activision shuts down non-commercial fan-made King's Quest episodic series.
After talks and negotiations in the last few months between ourselves and Activision, they have reached the decision that they are not interested in granting a non-commercial license to The Silver Lining, and have asked that we cease production and take down all related materials on our website.
- Want some insight as to what the TRON sequel will actually be about?
This review lets loose a ton of details about the overall plot of the movie from an early draft script (may not be final version) so those who don't want the movie spoiled for them best move their light cycle right along. The film is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in December.
- Trailer for Super Mario Galaxy 2 from Nintendo's Media Summit available online.
I wasn't that big of a fan of the first Super Mario Galaxy to warrant running out and buying the sequel. This seriously looks like more of the same video game except for a couple of new gameplay mechanics (and the inclusion of Yoshi). Maybe this would've lent itself better as DLC content. Oh... right.
- Looks like we'll be seeing John Malkovich versus Peter Parker for Spider-Man 4.
Interesting choice of casting for a Spider-Man villian. That is of course, if the movie manages to see the light of day (script and production issues have been plaguing the project according to rumors). Oh well, it can't be any worse than Spider-Man 3... can it?
- Ghostbusters 3 on track for a 2011 release according to Harold Ramis.
We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ... GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011.
- Trailer for Iron Man 2 now online for those who haven't seen it already.
Looks kind of interesting, heres to hoping this movie is in no way similiar to Spider-Man 3 or *gasp* Batman Forever. Seriously, why does a superhero movie need more than one main villain? The answer is we don't. Thanks.
- Trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 premiered over the weekend.
I've yet to play the original Batman: Arkham Asylum but I've heard very good things from those who have. Didn't the original game only come out like yesterday? Edit: it came out August 25th of this year. Still, that's a pretty short timeframe.
- LucasArts announces sequel to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
To say that I was a big fan of the first game is a bit of an understatement. I'll be buying this the day it comes out which of course has yet to be revealed (2010 is the only date thus far). LucasArts has a high resolution version of the trailer over on their site for those so inclined.
- Roger Rabbit sequel apparently in the works.
I'm guessing that this sequel would probably feature an up to date cast utilizing some of Disney's newer characters which range from Pixar's catalogue all the way over to the newly acquired Marvel library. Can't be any worse than Looney Tunes: Back in Action, can it? Wait, maybe it can.
- Next Zelda for the Nintendo Wii to include more body shaking activities.
I was secretly hoping they would announce less of this stuff in a new Zelda game. The gameplay mechanics for the last Wii Zelda game got stale really fast. Also, please don't make me go on another elaborate fishing mission again.
- New trailer for Toy Story 3 surfaces online in glorious Quicktime.
The art style looks fantastic as usual. I'm really impressed as to how they managed to attain a better sense of realism while sticking to the original Toy Story atmosphere. See you in line for tickets next summer.
- The Griswolds to take yet another vacation courtesy of New Line.
The story of the sequel penned so far would focus on Rusty and his kids as they embark on their next wild and crazy vacation. Clark and Helen make appearances as the good-natured grandparents.
- Even more plot details surrounding Toy Story 3 surface online (spoiler alert).
The only problem is – during their initial escape attempt – the Space Ranger gets severely damaged. To the point that Woody & friends are forced to hit Lightyear’s reset button. Which then puts Buzz into Spanish-speaking mode.
- Future movie sequels through the honest eye of Photoshop.
The image to the left would prove to be a sad day for fans of glistening psuedo-vampires everywhere.
- Watch some footage of Disney pulling the curtain back on Star Tours 2.
The newly revamped Star Wars theme ride will be opening back up in 2011 and will make use of 3D projection technology. Here's to hoping those 3D podraces won't make you too sick.
- Title and release date of next Pirates of the Caribbean movie recently announced.
'Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides' will hit movie theaters summer of 2011. Savvy? Plot of the movie rumored to focus around finding the legendary Fountain of Youth (as we last left off with At World's End).
- Some plot details regarding Cars 2 surface online.
It looks like you'll be seeing different races around the world with a little bit spy thriller mixed in for good measure (wasn't a big fan of the original but my kid is obsessed). The sequel will be in theaters summer of 2011.
- Some additional plot points about Toy Story 3 surface online.
The purported plot: Andy packs up for college, debates bringing Buzz and Woody. Shenanigans occur and somehow all of the toys end up in a daycare center where they are 'horribly abused' by little kids. Ok then.
- Ars Technica reviews the new Transformers movie.
This is in line with the rest of the reviews I've been reading across the Interwebs. Everyone seems to like the explosions though.
- A sequel to 300 apparently in the works.
'I know for a fact that Frank [Miller] is writing right now,' says Snyder, who explains that the plan is for Miller to create the story as a comic book first, '[He's] drawing away and seems to be knee-deep in it. I think he's going to head back to Greece again and do another reconnaissance.'
