The glorious unboxing of an Apple job offer. The glorious unboxing of an Apple job offer.

Yes folks, even Apple job offers are worthy of an unboxing post. The little touches that Apple decided to include with the overall package are quite cute (especially the 'Ah, paperwork' opener).

Some analysts are skeptical that advertising will catch on in a meaningful way on social networks, arguing that companies are reluctant to juxtapose their brands with unpredictable, and potentially offensive, user-generated content.

Daily Grind: So tired

Name: Vin (aka sleepwalker)
How Vin feels today: So tired @ 9:17:00 AM
What Vin really wants today: Sleep - just one night of uninterrupted sleep. Oh, and to thank my coffee maker for deciding to take a giant leak all over my kitchen counter top. Was my coffee really that bad?

Music Stuck in Head: Rocky Raccoon / The Beatles
Yes, Beatlemania is everywhere, even on GLM.

Stuff to do today:

  • Note: due to lack of sleep and some pesky work projects posting to GLM has been limited as of late
  • As I'm sure you've all probably noticed
  • Hopefully posting will be back on track next week
  • Play around with new version of iTunes that was released yesterday
  • The little interface tweaks make the player look really slick overall
  • Research some more about that interesting new home share feature
  • Finish up these work projects so I can get some more sleep

Twelve techie words you shouldn't say around the office anymore.Twelve techie words you shouldn't say around the office anymore.

Nobody talks about the 'World Wide Web' anymore, or the 'Information Superhighway,' for that matter. It’s just the Internet. It’s a distinction that Steve Czaban, the popular Fox Sports Radio talk show host, likes to mock when he refers to the 'Worldwide Interweb.'

The Nokia deal is potentially quite good for Microsoft, but for other reasons than Mobile Office. But, for Microsoft, Mobile Office must be the strategic priority, because the company needs to extend Office desktop software's relevance to the handset and the cloud.

Six ways to use your video game skills at the office.Six ways to use your video game skills at the office.

Gamers are accustomed to fighting bosses, which means that no matter how big, tough and disgustingly inhuman an office's head honcho is they will prevail. Even in the face of the menacing mini-boss -- the office brown-noser -- gamers will not falter.
