Why Google's GMail outage may be a sign of things to come. Why Google's GMail outage may be a sign of things to come.

The answer is that most of the coders behind today’s popular websites and services are deploying their code when it’s ready—not at some pre-determined point when downtime may not be noticed. It’s called continuous code deployment, or some variation on that theme, and everyone from Facebook and Netflix to smaller services do it. While it may occasionally cause a few blips, those blips should be shorter and less catastrophic.

Yahoo pulls the curtain back on a brand new version of their mail client.Yahoo pulls the curtain back on a brand new version of their mail client.

Definetly looking forward to giving this a whirl as I'm starting to grow weary of the GMail interface these days. Microsoft Outlook, which I use for work, is moderately simple yet has power features for people (such as myself) who are little overboard in terms of organization. I'd also like to point that GMail's labels versus folders paradigm does absolutely nothing for me. GMail looks like a stream of people shouting at me.

Turns out that the Hummer model/line is an unfortunate victim of a botched deal between General Motors and a Chinese manufacturer. So long, psuedo tanks - you had a good run.

Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It's built right into Gmail, so you don't have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works. If you think about it, there's always been a big social network underlying Gmail.

A writeup on how to defrag your mind in just five easy steps.A writeup on how to defrag your mind in just five easy steps.

This article is appealing to me because I always liken a good clearing of the head to the act of defragmenting a hard drive. The processes are apparently quite similar. With that in mind, good luck and happy defragmenting.

Turn it on from the Labs tab under Gmail Settings, and based on the groups of people you email most often, Gmail will try to identify when you've accidentally included the wrong person — before it's too late.
