Google Fiber not coming to your neighborhood any time soon.Google Fiber not coming to your neighborhood any time soon.

Turns out that Google would need about $140 billion to roll out their fiber network to the entire continental United States. At present time, they only have about $45 billion in the bank and that doesn't begin to include other associative costs.  Long story short, if you really want to try out Google Fiber you should think about moving to Kansas.

Photoblog: Tomato Fibers
Tomato Fibers

Playing with my new FujiFilm F550 EXR. Loving it so far, it's nice to be able to capture a shot like this using a mid-range point and shoot. Bonus: used the camera's EXR mode for this which automatically detected that I was attempting a macro shot and adjusted internal settings accordingly. Take that, manual settings!

Duluth, Minnesota's mayor Don Ness jumped into a 35 degree Lake Superior as a dual-purpose media event for Google Fiber and the Special Olympics; and 1,000 Morgantown, West Virginia residents last week held up signs saying 'We Want a Gig' at the WVU-Georgetown basketball game.
