New version of iOS starts appearing in developer logs.New version of iOS starts appearing in developer logs.

Developers have started noticing some curious entries in there log files regarding a new version of Apple's iOS operating system. The current version of iOS is six but references to iOS 7 are being found. Along with the new version of iOS a new iPhone hardware identifier has been unearthed as well. Look forward to iPhone 6 sometime in the near future.

Nintendo hard at work to find way to use more than one tablet for their next console.Nintendo hard at work to find way to use more than one tablet for their next console.

It seems that Nintendo had originally planned to have only one controller / tablet accessible to the Wii U at launch time (the other controller would have been your standard Wii-mote variety). Someone at Nintendo must have realized that this would probably be a bad idea so they have been hard at work at trying to make two tablets work for the console. The console's processor and RAM constraints may have played a part in pairing a singular tablet. However, Nintendo may have solved this so multi-tablet gaming may be coming to a living room near you.

Adobe gives up on trying to get Flash to work on mobile devices.Adobe gives up on trying to get Flash to work on mobile devices.

Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations. Some of our source code licensees may opt to continue working on and releasing their own implementations.

A quick tutorial on how to create checklists using Evernote.A quick tutorial on how to create checklists using Evernote.

Until quite recently all of my to-do lists were hand-written in a tattered marble covered notebook. I liked writing things down and enjoying that small feeling of achievement that comes with checking something off. That is, until I got too lazy to write them down. Enter Evernote, a free app for cataloguing whatever it is you want to catalogue. It's searchable, syncs with pretty much any computer or device, and best of all - free. Posting this here because I was not aware that you could search to-do lists via items that have gone unchecked. Awesome feature.

Have a peek at the future look of the Firefox user interface straight from Mozilla.Have a peek at the future look of the Firefox user interface straight from Mozilla.

There are some design concepts you may easily recognize if you happen to already be a Google Chrome user. Also, there seems to be a couple dashes of Safari thrown in there as well for good measure (although anytime you add the Mac traffic lights on a mockup I come to that conclusion). For those interested the developer tools have a brand new look as well, could be quite useful.

The Humble Indie Bundle is back again, get yourself some indie games for cheap. The Humble Indie Bundle is back again, get yourself some indie games for cheap.

If you want to try out some new video games for an obscenely low amount of money (potentially free... if you're the evil type) then the Humble Indie Bundle is just the ticket. There is no DRM on any of these titles and they even throw in a Steam key for those so inclined who happen to shun all other gaming platforms. But the best part of this is that you also get to support some awesome charities with your purchase, with the option on how you want your purchase divided up between developers and said charities. Wow.

A good primer on web operations for my fellow web developers out there.A good primer on web operations for my fellow web developers out there.

Every little piece of it can break at any time, can stall at any time. The more pieces you have in your application puzzle, the more breaking points you have. And everything that can break, will break. Usually not all at once, but most certainly when it's the least expected, or just when you really need your application to be available.

Taiwanese tea company decides to market their product by way of mock Apple keynote.Taiwanese tea company decides to market their product by way of mock Apple keynote.

The Jobs / John Stamos hybrid dropped by to pitch a Taiwanese company's vast selection of tea, of all things, for a TV advertisement that's apparently currently airing in Taiwan. Decked out in light jeans, a black mock turtleneck and sneakers, the impersonator even matched Steve's hair color, rimless glasses, and current weight. The only thing missing was an actual Apple product -- and months of media speculation.

Engadget reports on Apple's latest press release in which not only have they hit the fifteen billion download mark, but they also want to point out that they've  paid out 2.5 billion dollars for developing said fifteen billion apps. This number accounts for app sales across iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad users (of which there are 200 million) - just in case you were wondering

James Spader to take over for Steve Carell for next season of The Office.James Spader to take over for Steve Carell for next season of The Office.

It's official: The employees of Dunder Mifflin are getting a new CEO and his name is Robert California. James Spader’s ultra-confident and sexually charged character featured briefly in the NBC hit’s May finale is set to join the cast of the show's upcoming eighth season, NBC confirmed. 'James will reprise his role as Robert California, this uber-salesman that has a power to convince and manipulate, like a high-class weirdo Jedi warrior,' said Paul Lieberstein, one of the series executive producers and a series regular.

No matter what kind of development you do, at least three of these sites will be helpful to you in some kind of programming endeavor. I've just recently discovered the browser sandbox over at Spoon.net (though I'm a still little partial to IETester).

Well, this whole story just keeps getting more interesting every minute. Apple has acknowledged the existence of said missing device and sent notice asking for return. Gizmodo has decided to post the letter along with a casual smart-alecky response as well. Not a good way to win brownie points or future media event invitations.

Adobe to sue Apple sometime in the near future regarding recent SDK changes.Adobe to sue Apple sometime in the near future regarding recent SDK changes.

This really shouldn't be a surprise given Apple's recent barring of none-native code on the iPhone and features that Adobe had ready for CS5 in those regards for development. Apparently this was the final straw and not the relentless bashing they've endured for lack of Flash on Apple's various mobile devices.
