A video review of the transparent display of the future.A video review of the transparent display of the future.

Wow, that's pretty cool. The display is forty percent transparent at all times yet has a 100,000 to one contrast ratio. Perhaps we will see that interface from Minority Report come to life after all.

Five new lightweight planets discovered via Kepler space telescope.Five new lightweight planets discovered via Kepler space telescope.

All five planets in question are really close to nearby stars making them a little too hot for any actual human/alien life. Also, the orbital period is about three to four days but still, your face would melt off.

Marvel stockholders decide to go ahead and approve the Disney merger.Marvel stockholders decide to go ahead and approve the Disney merger.

Disney officially has the rights to over five thousand of your favorite Marvel comic book characters. You can expect to see most of these characters in the next Kingdom Hearts game or at the very least some kind of Disney versus Marvel Street Fighter type game (which actually sounds kind of cool come to think of it).

Bing! Information Design, based in St Louis, Missouri, launched a legal action last week in a local court - alleging that the multibillion-dollar software corporation 'had knowledge of the mark' and 'intentionally interfered' when it relaunched its search engine with a new name earlier this year.

Another trailer for Toy Story 3 surfaces online.Another trailer for Toy Story 3 surfaces online.

This new trailer seems to be a mix of some new footage along with a bevy of clips from the older movies interspersed in there as well. The end result makes it kinda look like a fan-made trailer you'd see on YouTube.

Server Issues and GLM Updates.

Well, as you can see we've been having some server troubles as of late. I'm still trying to work out these issues as to avoid any further downtime. So in the meantime, if you happen to see a message that says 'SERVICE UNAVAILABLE' just know somewhere behind the scenes tiny lemmings are furiously trying to get the site back up and running.

I guess I can also take this post as an opportunity to give you all a GLM state of the union. The redesign from June turned out to be a mild success as GLM has enjoyed a small boost in general web traffic more so than we used to get before. The big news is that I'm hoping to have several new features incorporated into the site before the year is out. Some of them relate to user-generated content (you might be able to guess where thats going) while some of the updates pertain to brand new features (no, I'm not telling what they are).

So that's about it in a nutshell. Oh, I encourage everyone to use the 'Discuss' feature on every post - this place just seems to be too quiet. Help me liven it up with a little idle chatter. Cheers!

Roger Rabbit sequel apparently in the works.Roger Rabbit sequel apparently in the works.

I'm guessing that this sequel would probably feature an up to date cast utilizing some of Disney's newer characters which range from Pixar's catalogue all the way over to the newly acquired Marvel library.  Can't be any worse than Looney Tunes: Back in Action, can it? Wait, maybe it can.

Exploded star blast is now the most distant space object ever seen.Exploded star blast is now the most distant space object ever seen.

The star in question actually would've had to exploded about thirteen billion years ago to be visible to our telescopes. So technically, that means that this star would've exploded a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away (golf clap).
