Rare asteroid collision caught via Hubble space telescope.Rare asteroid collision caught via Hubble space telescope.

Have a glimpse of what it looks like when two asteroids crash into each other in wide open deep space. Well, not so deep really - this event occured in an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

Hacking cable modems for profit and advertising this fact publicly not the smartest idea.Hacking cable modems for profit and advertising this fact publicly not the smartest idea.

Each charge carries a maximum of 20 years in jail and a $250,000 fine. Selling hacked cable modems and advertising them openly may have been a decent business model a decade ago, but it hardly seems worth bothering about today.

Eleven minute solar eclipse won't happen again until the year 3034 says NASA.Eleven minute solar eclipse won't happen again until the year 3034 says NASA.

NASA said on its website the eclipse was annular, meaning the moon will block most of the sun's middle, but not its edges, causing it to look like a ring. This blockage will last for 11 minutes, 8 seconds, an annual duration NASA said would not be exceeded until December 23, 3043.

Five new lightweight planets discovered via Kepler space telescope.Five new lightweight planets discovered via Kepler space telescope.

All five planets in question are really close to nearby stars making them a little too hot for any actual human/alien life. Also, the orbital period is about three to four days but still, your face would melt off.

Nope, turns out we're not living like The Jetsons quite yet; shockingly some people aren't too happy with that. Although we still have another fifty years to go before any real complaining should go on (The Jetsons live in the year 2062 according to Wikipedia).

Daily Grind: Attractive

Name: Vin (aka influenza attractor)
How Vin feels today: Attractive @ 2:20:57 PM
What Vin really wants today: Yes, in between the times that I'm not coughing, wheezing, sneezing, and/or blowing mucus-infested nostrils I actually feel quite charming. Roar.

Music Stuck in Head: Let's Get It On / Marvin Gaye
Aww yea. Hold these dirty tissues and let's toast some NyQuil together. Or not.

Stuff to do today:

  • Cough, sniffle, cough
  • Finish up watching seventy minute Star Wars video review
  • What video review you ask? This one. You'll either love it instantly or instantly hate it
  • Snort, wheeze, sniffle
  • Also finish watching new episode of TWID
  • Elephant noise, cough, higaga
  • Finish up work, go home and sleep

Not a bad idea at all. Officials hope this will help drivers fight off fatigue and make it home safe and sound. Other locations seem to be following suit, 7-11 (at least in Tuscon) is giving away free cups of joe as well.

Daily Grind: Slightly bored

Name: Vin (aka caulking madman)
How Vin feels today: Slightly bored @ 2:50:46 PM
What Vin really wants today: Go home right after slow workday finishes up and caulk things that don't necessarily need to be caulked because I want to label myself as a 'handy homeowner'. Also because my back patio door leaks when it rains (no, that's not code for something else).

Music Stuck in Head: Stuck in the Middle With You / Stealers Wheel
I always thought this was a Dylan tune until I just looked it up on Wikipedia. Wow, Stealers Wheel? Really?

Stuff to do today:

  • Buy more caulk
  • Start making New Year's resolutions for myself
  • Make resolution to get back on track with daily grind posting
  • ...starting today
  • Its always good to start resolutions early
  • Although it's a short a week so this little item may not kick off appropriately
  • Try really hard
  • Thank MacInquirer for rekindling my inspiration for making a new DotComic in the near future
  • Also thank them for carefully reading the about page of GLM
