Twelve very creative home wallpapers for your viewing pleasure. If pixelated wallpaper isn't your thing there are ton of other interesting designs listed over on the other side of the click. The color palette/wallpaper idea sounds like a fun weekend project as Home Depot sure doesn't seem to mind the taking of those free swatch colors (you may need multiple trips to get away with it though).

TIME pulls the curtain back on short list for 2012 Person of the Year. All eight candidates appeared on TIME’s online reader poll, but none took first place. TIME’s online voters have already revealed their choice for this year’s top newsmaker: Kim Jong Un. More than 5.6 million people voted for the supreme leader of North Korea, although his results and those of other high scorers got a boost from members of Internet forums like 4Chan.

Bret Victor's not-so-brief rant on the future of interaction design. If you haven't seen Microsoft's video entailing what they think the future of technology holds, you should watch it (readily available on source URL as an embedded clip). So watch that video and then read Victor's thoughts on the matter. That being said, I do have a minor point of contention. I did get some hands-on time with a Kinect-enabled Xbox 360 this past weekend and it was a fun, dare I say, semi-magical experience. I highly reccomend Double Fine's Once Upon a Monster (even the demo is fun).

Have a peek at the future look of the Firefox user interface straight from Mozilla. There are some design concepts you may easily recognize if you happen to already be a Google Chrome user. Also, there seems to be a couple dashes of Safari thrown in there as well for good measure (although anytime you add the Mac traffic lights on a mockup I come to that conclusion). For those interested the developer tools have a brand new look as well, could be quite useful.

Twenty-six cool And unusual bed designs for your sleepy viewing pleasure. My pillow-top bed is looking pretty boring compared to this list of non-boring beds by the folks over at coincidentally named BoringPanda.com. Sidenote: that may be one of the coolest domain names I've come across this year which is neither coincidental or boring. Mind blown.

YouTube experimenting with the new design dubbed Cosmic Panda.I had a chance to try this out last night and I liked the experience. The new design seems to take a couple cues from Hulu and other video sites by utilizing a darker background to make the video pop more. The other neat thing is that the comments will scroll while keeping the video locked to the top of screen and in view. That is surely a welcome change for those who enjoy reading inane YouTube comments. You can try it out for yourself over yonder.

James Spader to take over for Steve Carell for next season of The Office. It's official: The employees of Dunder Mifflin are getting a new CEO and his name is Robert California.
