Twelve unusual scarf designs for you to gawk at.Posted mostly because of the biting cold that happened to have a direct effect on my morning New York City commute. While a typography-based scarf sounds cool in theory, in practice it probably wouldn't provide much warmth.

Facebook testing out new single-column design for their timeline. This latest design rollout is only appearing for those residing in New Zealand at this point in time. If you really can't wait to see it the new timeline, fear not - it's just a quick 19 hour flight away (for those of us on the east coast).

Bret Victor's not-so-brief rant on the future of interaction design. If you haven't seen Microsoft's video entailing what they think the future of technology holds, you should watch it (readily available on source URL as an embedded clip). So watch that video and then read Victor's thoughts on the matter. That being said, I do have a minor point of contention. I did get some hands-on time with a Kinect-enabled Xbox 360 this past weekend and it was a fun, dare I say, semi-magical experience. I highly reccomend Double Fine's Once Upon a Monster (even the demo is fun).

Have a peek at the future look of the Firefox user interface straight from Mozilla. There are some design concepts you may easily recognize if you happen to already be a Google Chrome user. Also, there seems to be a couple dashes of Safari thrown in there as well for good measure (although anytime you add the Mac traffic lights on a mockup I come to that conclusion). For those interested the developer tools have a brand new look as well, could be quite useful.

Twenty-six cool And unusual bed designs for your sleepy viewing pleasure. My pillow-top bed is looking pretty boring compared to this list of non-boring beds by the folks over at coincidentally named BoringPanda.com. Sidenote: that may be one of the coolest domain names I've come across this year which is neither coincidental or boring. Mind blown.

YouTube experimenting with the new design dubbed Cosmic Panda.I had a chance to try this out last night and I liked the experience. The new design seems to take a couple cues from Hulu and other video sites by utilizing a darker background to make the video pop more. The other neat thing is that the comments will scroll while keeping the video locked to the top of screen and in view. That is surely a welcome change for those who enjoy reading inane YouTube comments. You can try it out for yourself over yonder.

Twelve cool Apple iPhone concepts for you to gawk at.Toxel has put together a list of iPhone concepts from all over the Interwebs ranging from cool to never-gonna-happen-this-lifetime. Some of these mockups may or may not already be in violation of several pending Apple patents. Seriously, has anyone taken a look at Apple's patent portfolio these days? It's quite extensive, they hold over 16,000 of them worldwide. Just reading this post probably puts you in patent violation.

- State of the GLM: Yes, I'm still here. No, I'm not dead.
You may have noticed that GLM has gone rather quiet for the past two-three months or so in terms of any and all content on the site. This post serves as a status update to alleviate any fears that GeekLikeMe is gone for good. Quite the contrary my dear...
