- Ten of the coolest train stations around the world for your viewing pleasure.
The recently remodeled Southern Cross Station has a distinctive wavy roof that looks like a mix between metal ant hills and rolling waves. The roof is both distinctive and oddly beautiful, and even has the practical function of dispelling fumes from the tracks bellow.

- A handy tutorial on how to make your very own vinyl record bookends.
Another awesome quick four-step tutorial from the fine folks over at Instructables. Simply boil up some of your old vinyl records and bend them, mold them, shape them into retro bookends. Really, when you were going to listen to those old polka albums anyway?

- Fifteen things about Star Trek that you may not have previously known about.
I had no idea that a) the main tag line of Star Trek (to boldy go, yadda yadda) was lifted from a White House pamphlet on space exploration and b) the entire sentence is grammatically incorrect. Lets hear it for split infinitives!

- A handy Photoshop tutorial regarding how to create your very own realistic paper textures.
Not sure just what version of Photoshop you'll need to pull this off but you can probably find multiple methods in earlier versions should you be so inclinded to do so. Quick note, the best use of digital paper design on a blog goes to Panic.

- Some amazing photos of that pesky volcanic ash for you to gawk at.
If you happened to be doing some overseas traveling over the past few days you might have noticed a delay or two (possibly more numerous than that). While this would've made for a really good excuse to justify the lack of recent GLM postings, sadly (or happily - depending how you look at it) it wasn't the case. More on that later.

- Twenty-one awesome and unique playgrounds for your child-like enjoyment.
I'm not sure that I'd actually take let my kids run amok on some of these locales but speaking as an adult, I'd be all over these in a heartbeat. Unnecessary slides at ridiculous heights! Whee!

- Fifty incredible works of coffee and latte art for your viewing pleasure.
My cup of coffee is looking downright boring after seeing some of the offerings in this collection but caffeine is caffeine and it certainly gets the job done regardless of artistic merit. For those interested in making their very own coffee art a tutorial is just waiting for you around the corner.

- A collection of the world's strangest buildings for you to gawk at.
Sorry, but you won't find any, as Travel & Leisure puts it, 'goofball novelty' buildings on this list. On the plus side, if you've always wanted to see what a bar-code building looks like then this post has your numeric ID all over it.

- A collection of the world's greatest scenic drives courtesy of National Geographic.
National Geographic offers up roughly forty-eight ideas to maximize your next scenic drive experience for those so inclined. Of the forty-eight on this list I am proud to state that I can check off two (maybe three) items off of this list. Alright, maybe I'm not so proud - I need to get out more.
