Coolest beanie ever, although the fish tank comes in at a close second for me.

Airbnb's new brand identity seems to have a lot of people scratching their heads.
If you hadn't seen it already, Airbnb has a brand new look and feel along with a brand new logo called The Bélo. The new mark, which is supposed to convey belonging, has instead become an Internet parody due to it's multiple similarities to certain obvious human anatomy. Personally, I see the planchette from a Ouiji board. The rest of you need to get your mind out of the gutter.

This latest design rollout is only appearing for those residing in New Zealand at this point in time. If you really can't wait to see it the new timeline, fear not - it's just a quick 19 hour flight away (for those of us on the east coast).

Upcoming Star Wars 1313 video game getting some helping hands from all facets of LucasFilms.
Now that Disney has acquired LucasArts some interesting news is starting to trickle out regarding their games division. It seems that all of the different entities under LucasFilms such as Industrial Light and Magic, Skywalker Sound, Lucas Animation, and LucasArts are all collobarating on this next generation title. Star Wars 1313 will take place in the seedy underbelly of Corsuscant which alone sounds like an interesting premise. Whatever does come out of this Disney/Lucas effort it will most likely be better than The Force Unleashed 2 by default (zing).

Bret Victor's not-so-brief rant on the future of interaction design.
If you haven't seen Microsoft's video entailing what they think the future of technology holds, you should watch it (readily available on source URL as an embedded clip). So watch that video and then read Victor's thoughts on the matter. That being said, I do have a minor point of contention. I did get some hands-on time with a Kinect-enabled Xbox 360 this past weekend and it was a fun, dare I say, semi-magical experience. I highly reccomend Double Fine's Once Upon a Monster (even the demo is fun).

Have a peek at the future look of the Firefox user interface straight from Mozilla.
There are some design concepts you may easily recognize if you happen to already be a Google Chrome user. Also, there seems to be a couple dashes of Safari thrown in there as well for good measure (although anytime you add the Mac traffic lights on a mockup I come to that conclusion). For those interested the developer tools have a brand new look as well, could be quite useful.

Ten neat Star Wars shirts for your viewing pleasure, go forth and wear The Force proudly.
Be the envy of all of your friends as you wear your Wookie of the Year t-shirt with pride and honor knowing that you've served The Republic and rid the galaxy of evil forces who came at you with robotic droids. They may have overrun your planet and caused a Jedi Master to flee into exile but in the end you can always crash with your Ewok friends on Endor and call it a day. Too much?

No day is ever complete without a Star Wars a capella light saber battle and accompanying soundtrack.
The fun begins about fifteen seconds in if you can't see the giant visual countdown over the video. In a rare instance I find myself agreeing with some of the YouTube comments. So yes, please make more of these and apply this effect to even better movies. Edit: spoke to soon, there is already a Matrix version out there.

Twenty-six cool And unusual bed designs for your sleepy viewing pleasure.
My pillow-top bed is looking pretty boring compared to this list of non-boring beds by the folks over at coincidentally named BoringPanda.com. Sidenote: that may be one of the coolest domain names I've come across this year which is neither coincidental or boring. Mind blown.

YouTube experimenting with the new design dubbed Cosmic Panda.
I had a chance to try this out last night and I liked the experience. The new design seems to take a couple cues from Hulu and other video sites by utilizing a darker background to make the video pop more. The other neat thing is that the comments will scroll while keeping the video locked to the top of screen and in view. That is surely a welcome change for those who enjoy reading inane YouTube comments. You can try it out for yourself over yonder.
