Turns out that sixty percent of adults can't digest milk.Being able to digest milk is so strange that scientists say we shouldn't really call lactose intolerance a disease, because that presumes it's abnormal. Instead, they call it lactase persistence, indicating what's really weird is the ability to continue to drink milk.

McDonald's takes a stab at making Happy Meals a healthier option. And just how will McDonald's pull off this healthy task you ask? By shrinking the size of the french fries portion that comes with the meal, of course. And believe it or not, the fast food chain even toyed with removing french fries all together from Happy Meals. According to the LA Times, families in this test group rebelled (non-violently) against this idea. Take that, healthly diet!

Thirteen of the world's greenest restaurants for you green foodie enthusiasts out there.Leaving this here for those of you looking for some travel inspiration and/or food for thought (if any of these joints happen to be in your neighborhood). Unfortunatly the closest one to my neighborhood happens to be a couple states away over in Nebraska. Although if I had my way I'd probably pay a vist to the solar-powered Burger King for giggles.

A list of ten bizarre candies up for sale at your local dollar store. Gummy Rats anyone?I don't know what's so bizarre about this list of delicious treats from Cafe Society. I mean who wouldn't want to eat a marshmallow-fluff-type-substance in a tube with a picture of a gorilla on it? At least the fluff comes out from the top of the tube and not the bottom (not sure if this is the case upon further inspection). Bonus: panda flavor available as well.

Experts figure out that eating more nuts is key to lowering your cholesterol. It is not yet clear why nuts have this effect, although one suggestion is that it is down to the plant sterols they contain, which are thought to interfere with cholesterol absorption. Lead researcher Joan Sabate said increasing nut consumption as part of a healthy diet should be recommended.

A handy tutorial on how to make your very own homemade Orangina-type beverage.Your homemade beverage of choice doesn't neccesarily have to be of the orange variety. The tutorial also encourages experimentation with other fruit juices, if you're into that sort of thing.
