- Google will probably have an e-book store of their own in the near future.
Interesting news when combined with the all-to-recent rumors of an Android tablet coming to Verizon. And apparently Google has already even gotten approvals from roughly 25,000 authors and publishers.

- A handy tutorial on how to make your very own vinyl record bookends.
Another awesome quick four-step tutorial from the fine folks over at Instructables. Simply boil up some of your old vinyl records and bend them, mold them, shape them into retro bookends. Really, when you were going to listen to those old polka albums anyway?

- Verizon would like you to know they are working on a tablet device with Google.
Few will be surprised at the notion that Google and Verizon are heading down this path: The New York Times reported last month that Google was working on a slate-style Android tablet along the lines of Apple's iPad.

- NASA to send first humanoid robot out into space later this year.
The robotics aren't quite advanced enough yet to send an actual android that is advanced as the ones you've seen on Star Trek - but it's a start. As to when these robot astronauts will turn on their masters and decide to destory all of our satellites - anybody's guess.

- Cheese sandwiches can also double as punishment sentence for school food fights.
Ah, food fights - the cornerstone of every good education. Rather than hand out detention for those involved in said food fights, one New Jersey school decided to serve up nothing but cheese sandwiches. They hope this policy will help to reduce further food fight escalations. Keep on fighting the good fight, Jersey.

- A handy tutorial regarding how to build your very own multi-touch surface device.
if you've got about $1,500 to kick around (and a spare computer) you too can make a surface that happens to be capable of multi-touch. You could also just buy a device that's already capable of multi-touch out of the box (cough cough, iPhone iPad iPod Touch) - but really, where's the fun in that?

- Google already hard at work on an Apple iPad competitor device.
Well surprise, surprise - Google wants in on the tablet market as well. Actually, it's not much of a surprise at all but it'll be interesting to see how this all progresses in terms of the continued rivalry between Apple and Google.

- Eleven recordings of terrible hold music for your listening pleasure.
Ever been stuck on the phone waiting customer service of some kind? Chances are that you've probably heard some of these musical disasters. There are some exceptions to the hold call rule. Some of the trendier companies here in NYC play classic Nintendo (8-bit and all) music whilst holding. Instant win.
